My work has a very clear role and purpose, to reflect the beauty and light I see everywhere in Nature.

The aim of my work is to uplift and inspire. Particularly with my abstract work my hope is that peoples own emotions and thoughts will be felt viewing the work as I have put my own genuine emotions and thoughts into the process of creating the pieces.

In 2006 I listened to Howard Hodgkin the great British Painter and Printmaker explain at his retrospective at IMMA how when you authentically put your own emotions and thoughts into your work they resonate back to the viewer their own emotions and thoughts. He suggested no explanation of the piece is needed, in fact if you explain too much you block the viewer accessing their own unique emotions and thoughts. His explanation of his process resonated with me.
